A bloody wedding goes from a bad day to a better one

Posted by Katerina Kirax on February 16, 2008

I’ve gotten a lot of compliments on my current look (which I have saved as an outfit called Better Day) so I figured it’s probably time to take you through it’s evolution from a free bloody wedding dollie gown to how I wear it today.

The Story
I had gotten these great boots that turned out to be way too popular.  First place I tp’d into wearing them I caused a small riot to ensue when random fashionista mobbed me and tried to steal my boots.  I emerged with my life, and my boots intact – but as you can see I look a little worse for the wear.

The Truth of the Matter
Bad Day got started with a free skin called ::Alexitimia Tattoo::Undead  and I decided that if I was going to look all bloody and bruised my clothes should fit the part.  I found the bloody wedding dollie outfit from Passionate Neko Dreams and added the tank top, ripped torn stockings and arm warmers from Body Politik (I think, the items say PbP and were made by by Kimberly Foss.)

Going from Bad to Better
After a while I got kinda tired of being all beat up and figured it was time to get cleaned up.  But I liked the basic look and wanted to try to create the same thing w/o blood.

Fortunately I was already at FabFree HQ where I was able to pick up some freebies from LaynieWear and SYD.  I quickly switched into Laynie’s white corset and cheekies and pulled on some clean stockings.  SYD’s goth skin cleaned up all the blood and bruises very nicely.  My real problem was the skirt – I love this skirt!  But it still had blood all over it.

With all the recent (completely valid) hate and discontent regarding content stealing, I don’t know if I should have done this or not but I went in and changed the texture on the skirt to one I had found elsewhere.  I think it’s one I uploaded into SL after finding drapery samples on another website and modding them for use as a texture in SL.

If anybody reads this and that counts as a no-no – let me know and I’ll get rid of it pronto.  In fact I think I’m going to send a notecard to the designer and ask.

Here’s the details of the rest of the outfit.  Once I figure out how to do links I’ll come back and put in landmarks.
